Having career coaching was a big decision for me, as I paid for it myself so it was a considerable financial investment. I decided to explore this after having spent a year failing to get shortlisted for most jobs I was applying for. I was attempting to get back into senior leadership of charities, a field I had previously been in for 25 years at CEO level, after a period if politics. At the point I approached Sarah, I was highly anxious and my confidence had taken a huge hit having been repeatedly rejected for roles at a less senior level than I had previously operated at.

Most career coaches offer a free introductory session which I would highly recommend as feeling comfortable with the person is essential to the success of career coaching. I communicated with 3 coaches and picked Sarah because I felt she got me very quickly. Also, Sarah provided the clearest outline of what she would provide including products in the form of a reworked CV and personal statement.

I found the career coaching invaluable. It was a fantastic investment. Sarah helped me clarify and refine what I was looking for in a role and built my confidence to apply for jobs at the CEO/Director level I had previously worked at. Sarah also immeasurably improved my CV and personal statement and, also helped with interview preparation. This included discouraging me from over preparation which I honestly think helped me get the job I secured. Aside from the products Sarah provides in a high quality CV and personal statement; the greatest value to me was getting my confidence back and having clarity about what I was looking for.

It took me a year to get a job, but after just 5 sessions of working with Sarah, I was offered a role at Director level. 

I would highly recommend career coaching. It was invaluable to me and I felt Sarah really quickly had an understanding of me. Sarah does a lot of work between sessions and so feedback on CVs, personal statements etc is incredibly thorough and incisive. Sarah also helped me refine what I was looking for as I felt I was floundering about at the time we met. Sarah contacted me several times between sessions with job adverts she thought may be of interest to me. It was very encouraging to feel held in mind and Sarah sent me the job advert of the role I was offered, showing her good understanding of my interests and skills. 

I know Sarah works with a lot of women leaders and I would particularly encourage women to work with Sarah. I felt much of my loss of confidence was age and menopause related and it was important to me to have a career coach similar in age to me who understood this. I am incredibly grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Sarah. I don't think I would have been offered a job at Director level without her input.
